Massage

That's the great versatility of massage. During massage an important cycle is set into motion that can last for days after your massage. With the first strokes of your massage, circulation is enhanced, increasing the blood flow to the tissues. These new fluids flush and replace metabolic wastes trapped in the tissues. This leads to increased flexibility of the muscles, which promotes movement and health. In turn, more movement means increased blood flow to the tissues....where the cycle starts over again. These steps start an upward spiral toward wellness and wellbeing.
This valuable spiral alleviates the build up of stress. While the accumlative effects of stress have been proven to lead to disease and illness, the good news is that massage also has accumulative effects that counteract stress' negative influence.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle therapy that does not require disrobing. Working with the subtle energies of the body to release tension in the transverse diaphrams of the body, craniosacral is useful for a multitude of aches and pains. It is especially helpful with migranes, headaches, sinus problems, and neck, shoulder, or back pain.

Prenatal Massage
Are you "living for two" right now? Suffering from low back pain, tired or swollen feet, and/or loss of sleep? Massage during pregnancy can soothe tired muscles, help regulate hormones, and teach relaxation techniques to help make your labor easier. It even helps you feel more rested--research has suggested that an hour of massage is equivalent to a 4 hour nap!
Want to be a hit at the baby shower? How about a massage gift certificate (and maybe a Newborn Massage booklet) for the new mom?
After baby gets here, wouldn't it be great for mom and dad to know some baby massage techniques for gas, colic, or general fussiness? Newborn Massage is a lovely way to strengthen the parent-child bond, too.
I teach a 30 minute Newborn Massage Class (includes booklet) for expectant parents. Since the gentle Newborn Massage can be used right after a normal delivery, it is a delightful way to become acquainted with your little one. (I like to teach this to the parents before baby arrives, so that they have time to become comforable with the strokes).
These strokes can be used all through your baby's infancy and modified for toddlers and older children. It's one of the best investments you'll ever make in your child's health.

Back "Facial" Massage
Back "facials" start with a gentle cleansing/exfoliation, followed by massage with a rich moisturizer. A hot towel pack soothes and relaxes. A truly delightful experience for you; especially for swimsuit season or other "backless" occasions.

Facial Massage
Your basic 30 minute facial massage starts with a cleansing, followed by exfoliation, and includes 3-4 hot towel compresses for your face. The massage, using either a light azulene oil or lotion, is done on the face, neck, and shoulders. After the massage is complete, the oil is removed from your face and a moisturizer is applied. A truly relaxing treatment! (The azulene oil itself has a beautifully light floral scent that you have to experience to believe!).
Would you like to look younger and more vibrant? Facial massage can help! This gentle massage encourages blood flow to the facial tissues, helps tone muscles and leaves you with silky, radiant skin. I use the Belavi product line in my facial massages; they are gentle and made form the finest natural ingredients. Salt Glows
Salt glows do just that--they make your skin soft, smooth and glowing! This treatment starts with a scented salt scrub, followed by a thorough rinsing, the application of lotion, and finishes with a hot towel wrap. Combined with massage, this is a wonderful quick "perk up" treatment.

Belavi Facelift Massage
Does reducing the signs of stress and aging on your face appeal to you? How about smoothing fine lines? Calm and soothe tired, puffy eyes? Then this "ultimate" facial massage is for you! While the 90 minute BFM was designed to reduce the effects of gravity, stress, and the aging process on facial muscles, it also happens to be one of the most relaxing treatments on my menu of services.
The BFM starts with an evaluation of your skin type and a discussion about in which area(s) you would like to see improvement. Then a cleansing is completed followed by exfoliation and then massage of the face, neck, and shoulders. Depending on your preference, light azulene oil or lotion is used. After the massage is complete, the oil is removed from your face in preparation for a HoneyLift treatment to "plump out" wrinkles and fine lines. Moisturizer is applied and then your face is ready for the "tie-up." This tie-up helps encourage the muscles to retain their newly uplifted state. During the 15 minute tie-up, both your hands and feet are pampered with a rich lotion rub and warm towel wrap. A truly rejuvenating treatment! Sinus Soother
This is a special treatment for sinus sufferers which uses hot towels, acupressure, facial massage, and craniosacral techniques. It relieves sinus pressure, reduces puffiness around eyes, helps calm dry and itchy eyes, and improves circulation to the sinuses. No disrobing is required. (Note: Since hot towels are part of the treatment, I recommend that women who wear make-up use only the bare necessities of mascara, lipstick and blusher as the towels will "steam" off your make up.)
